Talks about Marriage
I was reading the bible with Reach. We were at the point where it says: for this reason, a man shall leave his parents, and be united with his wife and both become one flesh. The following is our conversation.
I : God wants us to marry only once. God doesn’t like divorce.
Reach: ……
I: Do you know next week is Mommy and Daddy’s 10 year anniversary?
Reach: what is anniversary?
I: It is like birthday, 1 year, 2 year, anniversary is for marriage.
Reach: What is marriage?
I: a boy grows up and finds a girl he really loves, and then they marry and have a family, just like us.
Reach (disappointed): oh! So you already did marriage? Daddy found you and he loves you?
I: Yes.
Reach: I don’t like marriage, marriage is yucky!
I:Why?
Reach: because marry somebody you kiss the mouth…
I:…
I: Ok, you need to find a girl who loves God to be your wife.
Reach: I know, I know, if she doesn’t believe in Jesus, when she get dead (died), she can not go to heaven. Then I will not have a wife in heaven, only myself and my son.

Reach's Painting Vase and Flower
"Children, sit back to your seat, please." The art teacher called. "Oops!" The teacher turned the painting over, and turned to the students: "look at the beautiful colors, such a nice painting. Who has a comment?" A little girl raised her hand, "The flowers are so tiny." "Oh, yes, the flowers on the top, they are tiny. Aren't they beautiful?" the teacher said. Reach started his after-school art class yesterday (back in November 2010). I sat through the second half of class. Toward the end, Reach came to show me his painting. Looking at his scribblings on the piece of paper, I was looking hard for words to praise him.
"Oh, you drew some boxes..." I opened my eyes wide.
So I gave the "painting" back to Reach. And he hopped back to his seat.
Then the teacher asked who wanted to show their artwork. Most children raised their hands. And the teacher took their paintings and held it in front of her. One by one, she gave her words of appreciation and encouragement.
Reach didn’t get picked for a few times. So he held his painting up high in the air, his arm crossing another boy's face. From few rows down, my heart began to accelerate , "Uh-oh..."
The teacher took his painting and held it in front of her,
"Look at this, what a beautiful painting! And the colors, and…" she paused.
Reach raised his hand, "You hold it up side down."

“噢，你画了一些盒子呢，，，”我故意瞪大眼睛。
“小朋友，请坐回自己的椅子上。”老师在叫。
我把画递回给奇恩，他蹦回到自己的座位上。
然后老师就问谁想让大家来欣赏自己画的画。大部分的小朋友都举手了。老师把他们的画一张一张的拿来，放到她的胸前来让大家鉴赏，然后说些鼓励称赞的话。
奇恩没有被老师点上，几次以后，他就把画越举越高，手臂甚至碰到旁边小朋友的脸上了。我坐在离他不远的位子上，替他尴尬，“哦噢！”
老师终于把奇恩的画拿了过来，放在自己的面前，
“大家看一下这幅画，多美的一幅画啊！它的颜色鲜明，还有，，，”她停了下来。
奇恩举起手来：“老师你拿反了。”
“哦！”老师马上把画倒过来，然后看着学生们继续说，“看多美的色彩，多漂亮的画，大家有什么提议吗？”
一个小女孩举手说，“花太小了，，，”
“哦，是的，花是在最上面，它们是很小的。它们是不是很漂亮？”老师指给全班小朋友看。
隔着两个桌子，此时我才受了启发，第一次发现我儿子画上的花。

奇恩的两颗门牙摇摇欲坠有一段时间了。二周前踩scooter摔了一交，成了骆驼背上那最后一根稻草，两颗乳门牙正式宣告独立。所以如今讲话除了一如既往的稚趣外，还多了一道漏风的特色。

Front Yard Makeover Ideas?
3/18 Updates
I cut down the boxwood on the right yesterday. The row of boxwood on the left will be gone soon (hopefully this weekend). Now I don't know what to do with the cypress. I have 2, one big, one small. Now there are 3 options: chop them down or move them to somewhere in the yard or give them to others.
After we cleaned up the wood chips and debris in the stump hole, and it rained on Wednesday, the stump hole finally looks like this. Ugly, huh?
这是我家前院---需要好好整修一番了。房子左边的一棵大树去年被一场暴风雨吹断了。昨天我们叫人来把突出来的树根绞碎了。树根是不见了，可地上留下了一个填满了木削的大窟窿。两边的boxwood被我和老公两人不定期的修剪，成了圆不圆，方不方的绿方块。房子左边的围砖倒的倒歪的歪，，，You got the idea.
